Quantum Superposition and the Act of Decision-Making

Perhaps you have heard: “It is possible for an informational bit to be in more than one place at the same time, and the moment something is observed, the probability distributions collapse, establishing exactly where that informational bit is.” If you have ever been interested in scientific facts, I am sure you have heard something similar. Let us get to the truth of the matter and where this phenomenon will lead us.

As you know, we humans possess the capacity for free decision-making, a trait that sets us apart from other living beings. That is, until we make a decision, there are infinite probabilistic states in which every informational bit can exist. In this respect, a state of chaos dominates all universal formations.

Some might think: “Alright, you say that, but human existence dates back roughly 1 million years. Are you claiming that the universe was governed by chaos before that, or was there a decision-maker before humans?” When we ponder this, looking at the orderly functioning of the universe before humans, we can deduce that there must indeed have been a decision-maker prior to humanity. Who was this, and why did they bring forth another decision-maker called "human"?

When thinking deeply on this subject, you can see that different belief systems offer various explanations for this phenomenon, and I believe Islamic theology explains it in the most accurate way. Indeed, when the core tenets of Islamic belief are examined, it becomes clear that it is the belief system that conceptualizes the universe and the afterlife in the most comprehensible way by naming:

The decision-maker before humans as Allah,

The concept of quantum superposition—where a particle can exist everywhere before being measured—as Iblis (representing the ultimate state of potential chaos/deviation),

The being that Allah set free to observe how closely they adhere to the sacred word as the human,

The decision-making right granted to humans as cüz’i irade (partial/free will),

Allah’s right of intervention as külli irade (universal/absolute will),

Each of the physical laws in this universe and the hereafter as angels,

And the human capacity to make decisions as reason (akıl).

Your thoughts on this matter are highly valuable; please feel free to share them.
